I've been dedicating a lot of my time recently to educating myself on how to better mark-up my html and css, and in the process have discovered that this site I made nine months ago is written very poorly. I guess on the front-end side of things, it still works, but being the perfectionist I am, it really bothers me when I look at the code now.
As one of my next projects for work involves creating a new website from the ground up, I hope to improve my mark-up and eventually apply what I've learned to update this existing site. So, while I'm busy with work now, I have a lot of ideas for personal projects that I hope to roll out even while I'm here in Rome. I suspect that a few months of late nights and short weekends will give me more free time in the long run.
I'm still very much alive and enjoying life, but I've come to look at this time away from home as an escape from "normal" life and the only way to make it meaningful at this point is to learn as much as I can so that I'll have all of this knowledge at my disposal when I return. I'm coming back strong.
